• The Pentucket High School Arts Festival is Thursday May 15th. Performance spots are open for acoustic solo duo and small group performances from 6 – 8:30. Sign up in the Music Office or see Mr. DiTomaso.
• Pentucket students: stop by the Art Room for more information on Summer Workshops being offered July 7 – 18th. Offerings include Painting, Photography, Animation, Film making, poetry, dance, song writing and more. These workshops are not limited to Pentucket students, so consider signing up with a friend or family member. See any of the art, music or theatre teachers for more info.
• Seniors: singers and musicians for graduation must meet after school today to be included in the program.
• Congratulations to all students and staff of Into the Woods, which was nominated for two North Shore Music Theatre Spotlight Awards in the areas of Best Orchestra and Best Costume Design. There will be a brief meeting after school tomorrow to discuss the awards ceremony. Anyone interested in attending as well as seniors interested in being selected to perform should be there. See Mrs. Aslam if you cannot make it.
• Congratulations to Alanna Poretta, who broke the school’s 24-year-old record at Saturday’s State Coaches Invitational Track meet by placing second n the mile with a time of 5:06.51!!
• Please excuse the boys JV and Varsity Lacrosse team at 2:05 today.
• Juniors and seniors: Prom ticket sales have been extended until this Wednesday. This is the absolute last day to get your tickets.
• Seniors: Check out the list outside the Main Office to see if you owe any textbooks, library books, fees, uniforms, etc. You must either pay or return materials. You will not receive a cap & gown for graduation unless you are in good standing. Any questions, see Mr. DiFelice in room 192.
• Today is the last day to sign up for the Computer Literacy Exam on Wednesday at 2:20. Please see your guidance counselor to make the appropriate arrangements.

• Seniors: those of you with borrowed books need to begin returning them to the library. Please get them to Ms. Costello before the Senior Obligation list is issued.
• Everyone come see the Bela Fleck & the Fleck tones concert, performed by the Pentucket Mallet Ensemble, tonight. It starts at 7PM, is a 35 minute concert, and is totally free!
• Prom tickets are on sale before and after school for $55 each.
• Field hockey players: if you want to play summer league or go to summer camp, come to the meeting in Mrs. Beaton’s room Thursday right after school.
• Big Band, Blues Ensemble and Tech Club are cancelled for the remainder of the week. All Tech events will continue as scheduled.
• SADD meets tomorrow after school.
• A reminder that the Theatre Club is meeting today after school today in room 173. We are trying to select officers, so anyone interested in being involved should stop by.
• Prom-goers: You need to have your list of 10 people for your table to Mrs. Deacon by Friday. Your table determines your spot in promenade.

• Pentucket Center for Alternative and Renewable Energy is sponsoring the showing of the award winning movie, “An Inconvenient Truth” tomorrow night in the auditorium at 6PM. The film by former Vice President Al Gore, is about our impact on the environment and climate change. There is no admission charge.

• Mr. Ruland’s H1 English students must report to English class tomorrow.

• SAVE will meet today in room 56 to discuss Earth Day activities. All are welcome and refreshments will be served. For more info, see Ms. Cartier.
• Please bring in items for Operation Pentucket Cares. The high school has adopted Company C of the 801st Brigade Support Battalion of the 101st Airborne Division. Boxes and wish lists are located in the social studies classrooms.
• Mrs. DeCoste will be starting a yoga club for students after April vacation. If you’re interested, please see Mrs. DeCoste in room 46 after school for more info.
• Girls: do you have any old prom dresses that you’ll never wear again? Think green! Recycle them by donating them to the National Honor Society. They will bring them to Anton’s Cleaners who will give them to girls who can’t go to prom because they don’t have a dress.

• March Madness tomorrow has been cancelled due to spring sports.
• Mr. PHS contestants are reminded to bring in3 photos and give them to either Kayla or Lindsay.
• Congratulations to April O’Brien, Paige Sutherland and Eric McDonald, who all competed in the High School National Scholastic Track and Field Championships in New York City yesterday. Eric placed 13th in the country in the mile. Paige placed 23rd and April placed 36th in the 800-meter event. Excellent job and excellent seasons!
• Seniors: A reminder that the Pentucket Scholarship Foundation application is due by March 21st to PO Bo 36 in Groveland, MA 01834.
• Reminder: SAT Prep classes will be held Tuesday and Thursday night this week. Remember to bring your calculator.

• Softball tryouts are held today in the gym at 4PM.

• There will be a junior class meeting tomorrow morning at 7AM.
• This year’s musical, Into the Woods, opens this week! Shows are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7PM and tickets are $10 for students, $15 for adults. It will be a night of great music and lots of laughs. Don’t miss it!
• Today there is a meeting of all girls soccer players in room 158. All should attend.
• All students scheduled for Ms. Wlodyka’s F period study hall are to report directly to her room today.
• There is an important Lit Mag meeting today in room 105. All should attend.

• Students taking the SAT prep course tonight should report to room 6 at 6PM. Any student who did not receive information about the course recently should see Mrs. Cohen in the guidance office.
• There is a journalism meeting after school Thursday in Ms. Ducolon’s room. All students interested in writing for the newspaper should attend. Everyone is welcome, even if you have not taken Journalism.
• The hockey banquet is March 10th at 6PM in the café.
• Did you know that $25 provides 50 people at a soup kitchen with a bowl of hot soup and a sandwich? Participate in the Walk for Hunger and help hundreds of people in Massachusetts. See Ms. McCarron in room 144 for details.
• Are you good with hair or makeup? Ms. Aslam is looking for students interested in helping with hair and/or makeup for the musical. Students would have to have some availability this Friday and next week. If you are interested, see Mrs. Aslam in room 173 as soon as possible.

Today at 2:30 tow teams, German Black Thunder and Spanish Conquistadors will compete for International Award at Foreign Language week tournament. Come cheer them into victory!

Her outstanding leadership as Foreign Language Department Chair in Methuen and her caring Methodology as a Spanish teacher were highlighted in the presentation at the Lanam Club in Andover.
